Armed with various qualifications, Dr Deruschka Govender is a passionate family dentist who has been heading up Medinet Dental since 2012. She completed her Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of the Western Cape. She then received a Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry (cum laude) from the same institution and a Certificate in Orthodontics from the Clinical Foundation of Orthopaedics & Orthodontics. However, her personal touch and genuine care for her patients truly set her apart.
From a young age, Dr Govender was drawn to the healthcare field, with dentistry resonating deeply within her. She treasures the bond she forms with her patients, focusing not just on their dental health but educating them on the intricate relationship between oral well-being and overall health.
For Dr Govender, the joy of dentistry comes from moments of pure transformation. Whether it’s alleviating pain, restoring functionality, or enhancing aesthetics, witnessing a patient regain their confidence and smile without reservations is her ultimate reward. Outside the clinic, Dr Govender juggles the roles of a devoted mom to three children and a loving wife to a fellow dentist. She loves spending time with her loved ones, exploring our beautiful country, and doing a bit of retail therapy now and then.
Zanele ensures our practice always stays in top shape to give our patients ease of mind. We have strict hygiene protocols, and Zanele ensures they’re all up to standard. She loves making our patients feel comfortable with a friendly smile!
